Sunday, March 11 to Wednesday, March 14:
New Dutch Wave stand at the Interactive Trade Show

The New Dutch Wave booth offers a surprising program everyday. Varying from the Dutch developments in solutions and tools for people with visual impairments, to showcasing interesting tech and creative startups. Next to that, you’ll find some interesting presentations from our municipalities to show you why you should come and work or do business in The Netherlands. Don’t forget to grab a delicious Dutch stroopwafel on your way out!


Monday, March 12: Startup Day / Opening
1pm-3pm New Dutch Wave Pitch Competition, powered by Innogy
We are welcoming 10 startups to share their groundbreaking ideas with the entrepreneurship community. Join the audience to see who will pitch their business ideas, convince expert judges of their value, and wow the crowd in 5 minutes (with 5 min Q&A).

3pm - 4pm Global Challenges, Blockchain-Enabled Solutions
Panel discussion moderated by HRH Prince Constantijn, special envoy for startups. Panelists include: Arash Aazami (UniversalRight.org), Arthur Melissen (Storro), and Marloes Pomp (Dutch Blockchain Coalition).

4pm - 5pm Dutch Startup Showcase
Meet the innovators that are shaping the future of our cities, recruitment, e-commerce, sports tech, music, festival innovation, food, energy, video and music streaming!

11pm – 2am Opening Party: We officially open the New Dutch Wave house with some very special guests, a barbeque, and a great party!


Tuesday, March 13: Smart City Day
9:30am – 11am How to design the city?
A panel discussion about urban development, including design of the circular city and how panelists’ projects contribute to the development of their cities. Opening by Jann de Waal with speakers including: Blue City: Lars Crama (Blue City), Hans Schönfeld (Dutch National Police Department), Claudius Lieven (City of Hamburg), and Ren Yee (UNStudio)

11am- 12:30pm Tackling local challenges resulting from global problems
Austin Mayor Steve Adler will welcome the audience and briefly share his view on smart cities, including Austin. The panelists will elaborate on several statements: Cities need to have Smart City strategies, city planners must look beyond its boundaries, city councils need to learn from startups, and more.

12:30pm – 12:45pm Global Challenges, Dutch Solutions
Presentation by Dave Geensen and Frank Vieveen (both municipality Rotterdam) about smart city challenges and solutions in Rotterdam. A short film will be followed by a short talk.

12:45pm – 1pm Creating the Internet of Energy Talk by Arash Azaami (Kamangir)

1pm – 1:30pm Discussion with startups: Impact for the future of living Moderated by: Martin Luxemburg (Director, Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship, Rotterdam). Pieter Waller from Chargetrip, who won the innogy Mobility & Energy Track during the New Dutch Wave Startup Competition, along with Babak Mirzaie from Expivi and Veerle Donders of Zoku, will explain how they contribute to smart city challenges.

1:30pm – 2:10pm Roundtable discussion: Smartest cities do make social impact
During the Round Table, the following projects will be discussed: Amsterdam's Agile Digitalization, Amsterdam Innovation Arena, MaaS: (Mobility as a Service), and Smart Policing: "Data driven for a safe & smart city”. Speakers: Anil Balgobind (City of Amsterdam), Henk van Raan (Amsterdam Arena), Eric Minck (Min IenM).

2:10pm – 2:30pm Festivals for Inclusive Cities
In this presentation, a quick view of the Expo Floriade 2022 Almere will be explained by representative Mark Spetter." Linda Holleman of We Make The.City Festival will present the plans for coming WeMakeThe.City festival.

2:30pm – 3pm The enabler of smart cities; Future roles of utilities
Hosted by Andre Richter and Lukas Winter of innogy. innogy SE is one of Europe’s leading energy companies, offering innovative and sustainable products and services which enable energy efficiency and improve quality of life.

3:30pm – 4pm Bundle IT in a Department of Technology
Join Technical Lead of Dept, Arthur Stobbelaar, in a talk about why the existence of a centralized Ministry of Technology is paramount to deal with Net Neutrality, Cryptocurrencies, and other issues we’ve faced in the past year.

4pm – 4:30pm Fake news, social addictiveness, and dumb cities
We explore how and why we need ethics for actual human beings in Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence and UX design, as it is the only way forward in creating smarter cities we actually want to live in.

9pm - 10pm and 10pm - 11pm The Living Museum
An exhilarating mix of the avant-garde art, music, fashion, technology and performance. An experience created in collaboration with groundbreaking Dutch artists, who make multidisciplinary cross-overs and give a new meaning to the word “museum”.

After the two shows of The Living Museum, they will present a night filled with music!

Wednesday, March 14: Festival Innovation, Music, and Tech
10am - 11am What’s next in Influencer Marketing, and why the future of branding is publishing
Moderator John Meulemans (3sixtyfive) talks about brands that have become a publisher, the role of influencers, and how new creative formats will change marketing forever. After the presentation, a panel with industry-experts from Ubisoft, Armada Music and Fashionchick will explore new opportunities and share their vision.

11:15am – 12:15pm Paradiso Panel on Branding in Music
In this panel session, we discuss branding a venue and artists in the current market, with participants of every branch involved. Moderator: Carly Renwarin (Head of Marketing, Publicity & Ticketing Paradiso)

12:30pm – 2:30pm What is the secret of the Dutch Festival scene?
With this track, we dive into the world of music and entertainment – and find out what kind of technologies are coming to a festival near you (if not already there!)

3pm – 7pm Where Cultures & HR meet, hosted by Appical
Network with Dutch companies and learn about how you can "Build a Culture in High-Performance Organizations" with our panel of HR experts from PepsiCo, Uber, Southwest Airlines, and Appical. Plus, beats will be provided by the famous Dutch DJ Joost van Bellen!

8pm – 2am Paradiso Presents!
Amsterdam’s Paradiso has become a pop venue, a club and a cultural center in one. In this program, they will host musical acts Rosemary & Garlic, The Homesick, Ace Tee, Canshaker Pi, Soweto Kinch, Joost van Bellen!


Thursday, March 15: Dutch Impact Party
